The clock is wrong
Wrong time inside Linux after sleep or hibernation, and why it matters.
A frozen or hibernated instance's clock stops, so after a long pause it can be hours behind. That isn't only cosmetic: it breaks secure web connections ("certificate is not yet valid"), confuses make and git, and causes errors that look unrelated.
- MSL fixes the clock of running instances automatically after your Mac wakes.
- Anything else: Sync clock with the Mac on the Maintenance card. It says how far off it was.
Check the time inside Linux with date.
